Taffy, you are so right about this book being for all women, not just wives.
It's been difficult for me to study parts of this wonderful book as I am reminded of all the times I was NOT an excellent wife to my husband. It is 14 years ago today that Rick went to be with the Lord. Someone gave me this Scripture years ago when I was newly widowed,
Isaiah 54:4-8
“Fear not; you will no longer live in shame.
Don’t be afraid; there is no more disgrace for you.
You will no longer remember the shame of your youth
and the sorrows of widowhood.
For your Creator will be your husband;
the Lord of Heaven’s Armies is his name!
He is your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel,
the God of all the earth.
For the Lord has called you back from your grief—
as though you were a young wife abandoned by her husband,”
says your God.
“For a brief moment I abandoned you,
but with great compassion I will take you back.
In a burst of anger I turned my face away for a little while.
But with everlasting love I will have compassion on you,”
says the Lord, your Redeemer.
Another comforting verse for me is Isaiah 46:4
Even to your old age and gray hairs
I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
Our Heavenly Husband is so good.

Oh, Kim, this is a wonderful scripture to post! I think I will print these out and give to the BB's to keep in their "Excellent Wife' books!
This makes me once again realize that all the answers are in the GOD's words. We are always looking outside to mortals for what is right there in the Bible.
I pray to be stronger in my times of anger/doubt/saddnes and open the book that is always close at hand, my bible.
simply wonderful KIM!
...i guess we can take comfort that the creator is always at work in us...always tweaking...always lovingly conforming us more to HIS ways. I hope to be better and more like HIM tomorrow than i was today.
